Good luck2021
Public space (Prague, Czech Republic)
Video, 4 min., QR vinyl stickers

This video essay presents a fictional story about the mysterious disappearance of Olivia, drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of internet scams, conspiracy theories, and AI-generated videos. The project employs robotic voices to mimic the style of low-budget YouTube videos. Zuzana-Markéta intentionally manipulates an existing conspiracy theory, grafting her own fictional narrative onto it, further blurring the lines between reality and fiction in a post-factual era.

A conspiracy theory from the „golden age of the internet“, Cicada 3301, was eventually revealed to be a recruitment drive for the CIA. Despite the mystery being unraveled, many still prefer to believe it was a recruitment effort for a secret community of highly intelligent individuals. This narrative, which reflects frustration with current power structures, becomes a commentary on social powerlessness.

The work is accessible through stickers with QR codes discreetly placed in public spaces around tech-related buildings in Prague. After scanning the codes, viewers are redirected to an anonymous YouTube channel featuring a single video titled „Good luck.“ With no indication that it is an artwork, the video invites viewers to interpret it for themselves, raising questions about our ability to navigate a digital world full of misinformation.
